Since the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on May 25, 2018, the collection and processing of personal data (all operations relating to personal data, regardless of the process used: name, first name, address, social security number, etc.) by companies are subject to obligations intended to protect the privacy and individual freedoms of the people whose data is collected.

In the event of non-compliance with the obligations set out in the regulation, the National Commission for Information Technology and Liberties (CNIL) can impose administrative fines of up to 2% to 4% of the global annual turnover of the previous financial year. Criminal sanctions may also be added to these administrative sanctions. Finally, victims can seek damages.

Often lacking tools, VSEs/SMEs perceive RGDP compliance as a real challenge and experience it as a real regulatory constraint.

Faced with this context, OGEA Réunion and MDS have agreed to set up support packs, set and priced according to three categories – artisans, liberal professions, others – in order to allow OGEA Réunion members:

Each pack will include private access to GDPR software developed by MDS.

For those who would like to entrust the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO) to MDS, a final pack will offer this service on the basis of a preferential rate set according to each company.

The other actions implemented within the framework of this agreement concern:

free access, for all OGEA Réunion members, to a flash diagnosis provided by MDS to allow them to know their level of compliance and their risks as well as the actions to take to comply,
the organization by MDS of thematic and sectoral webinars of one and a half hours per quarter on data protection as part of the OGEA Réunion Masterclasses,
and finally the possibility for both partners to intervene during events organized by one or the other entity.
